PVP/povidone allergy reactions can occur, as seen in cases of anaphylactic reactions following PVP-Iodine treatment for impetigo, urticaria from hair products containing PVP, and anaphylaxis after oral acetaminophen tablets. PVP K30 is insoluble in various solvents, including pentane, cyclohexane, diethyl ether, ethyl acetate, liquid paraffin, carbon tetrachloride, toluene, and xylene. These reactions highlight the potential risks associated with PVP and povidone products.
